Before your appointment

• Do not consume alcoholic beverages at least 24 hours prior/post-treatment (alcohol may thin the blood and increase the risk of bruising)

• Avoid anti-inflammatory/blood thinning medications, if possible for a period of 3 days before treatment. 

• Schedule your appointment at least 2 weeks prior to a special event which you may be attending, such as a wedding or a vacation. 

• Be sure to have a good breakfast, including food and drink before your procedure. This will decrease the chances of lightheadedness during your treatment.

• You are not a candidate if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

After your appointment

• Head up! Avoid laying down or bending over for 4 hours post treatment. This will prevent the product from tracking into the orbit of the eye causing a drooping eyelid aka ptosis. 

• Do NOT perform activities involving straining, heavy lifting, or vigorous exercise for 6 hours after treatment. This will keep the Botox in the injected area and not elsewhere. 

• We recommend you avoid applying makeup after your treatment to prevent bacteria from entering the injection sites. 

• Hands off! Do NOT manipulate the treated area for 48 hours post-treatment. 

• Do NOT receive facial/laser treatments or microdermabrasion for at least 2 weeks after injections. 

• Some patients may experience a headache post treatment- take Tylenol not Advil for pain relief. -Temporary mild swelling, redness, or bruising may be experienced at treatment sites. Any bruising that occurs can be easily hidden with makeup and typically resolves within a few days. 

• It takes 14 days to see the full results of your treatment. Between days 14-21, you will follow up with your injector to make any adjustments if required. 

• For optimal results, regular and continued treatments are recommended. Be sure to schedule your next visit in 3-4 months.
